Trading for 10 Years

Many of us will remember the 'goldrush' period that began around 2010, when Gordon Brown's actions as Chancellor had created opportunities for domestic and commercial Solar PV that offered extremely generous returns on investment.

In fact, I remember in 2010 the biggest hurdle to selling PV Systems was the feeling among potential customers that the benefits just seemed too good to be true. Many simply reasoned that there must be a catch somewhere.

Within the industry itself, cowboy companies sprang up all over the country, employing 'roofers' who were - in many cases - people with no experience and rather poor skills. The industry was often referred to at that time by the Press as 'the new wild west'.

Photon Project Management was incorporated in 2014, after the industry had undergone considerable rationalisation and the cowboys had drifted away as customers became more discerning. The founders of the company, having themselves worked through this period of turmoil while gaining valuable experience of which fitting teams could be trusted, were determined to build a new company with standards that would endure.

We focused on delivering high-quality installations, time after time after time. And our reputation grew, enabling us over the ensuing decade to become one of the most active and highly-trusted design and installation companies in Wales.

We work with these same standards today, and are grateful for the recognition we've achieved. Many of our commercial customers use us across multiple projects, and have appreciated the relationships we have nurtured with them.

Today feels like the day to take a breath, acknowledge that ten years is a long time in such a volatile industry, and say a big thank you to those who have shared our journey. We look forward to welcoming many new customers into our orbit in the years ahead.
